FINAL CALL FOR CONTRIBUTED TASK PARTICIPATION

 =======================================================================

ACL 2012 Workshop on "Rediscovering 50 Years of Discoveries"

To be held at ACL 2012 main conference, Jeju, Republic of Korea, July
10, 2012

Website: http://translit.i2r.a-star.edu.sg/r50/

New deadline for contributed task short paper submissions: April 15, 2012

 =======================================================================

In addition to the technical program, the workshop will host a
contributed-task, in the spirit of a crowd-sourcing activity, for
augmenting and improving the current status of the ACL data collection.

The goal of the contributed-task is to provide a high-quality version of
the textual content of the ACL Anthology as a corpus. Its rich-text XML
markup will contain information on section headings, footnotes, table
and figure captions, bibliographic references, italics/emphasized text
portions, non-latin scripts, etc.

Eight different tasks have been proposed for automatically adding
missing or correcting wrong markup to the current rich-text
formats. These eight tasks include:

* Footnote identification
* Table reference identification
* Bibliographic reference identification
* De-hyphenation improvement
* Garbage/leftover removal
* TEI P5 markup generation.
* Sentence Splitting
* Math formula markup generation

Teams participating in the contributed task are encouraged to produce a
short paper describing their work and presenting their results. More
information can be found at
http://translit.i2r.a-star.edu.sg/r50/taskintro/

- SUBMISSIONS ----------------------------------------------------------

All submissions must be done electronically via the portal
https://www.softconf.com/acl2012/R50/ and should follow the ACL 2012
format, as specified in http://acl2012.org/call/sub01.asp. The paper
selection will follow a standard double-blind reviewing process, so
submissions must not include author names, affiliations or
self-references. Accepted papers will be presented at the workshop and
published in the ACL 2012 workshop proceedings.
