Ron

I'll have to research me -> us.

The Royal We was famously democratised in the Thatcher Era ("We are a
grandmother").

The true Royals went through a phase of using the Royal One, though I think
they were laughed out of it.

There are a couple of interesting differences between British and US usage
of the impersonal "one". In BE we are happy to repeat "one", and we use the
genitive "one's". In AmE the normal usage is to replace the repeated "one"
with "he" and "one's" with "his", eg "If one uses `one' he is laughed at",
"If one uses `one' his friends laugh at him."
