Never heard about Ceasar? Do you know what he said about the "Belgians"?
But you are right, in the 16th century the actual country Belgium did'nt
exist yet.
And during the interbellum, one of our ministers already said to our
king:
"Sire, there are no longer Belgians"
(He said that in French. The king was disconcerted, he never noticed the
abcence)
And nowadays, there are only Flemings and Walloons left.
