[The following is in Scots and in English]

English translates for a walin o the Scots texts. For the nou the'r juist

is!), what A'v duin for the nou is tae pit up a page wi a list o aa thae
texts that hae English translates, wi instructions on hou tae gar the
translates kythe - it's juist a maiter o haudin the moosepynter ower a word
ye dinna ken, an up lowps the English for it! It's set furth in a fun kin o
wey, but A think saerious students o the langage'll finnd it gey uisefu. Ye
canna miss the button for't - it's the ae animation on the main page.

I've added a new feature to my website (URL below) that provides automatic
English translations for a selection of the Scots texts. At present there
are only four poems, but I'll be extending it to as many more texts as I can
as soon as I can. Since this project will take a long time to complete (if I
ever manage to complete it!), what I've done in the meanwhile is to set up a
page with a list of all the texts which have English translations, with
instructions on how to view the translations - it's just a matter of
hovering the mousepointer over a word you don't know, and up pops the
English for it! It's presented in a fun way, but I think serious students of
the language will find it very useful. You can't miss the button for it -
it's the only animation on the main page.

I think you'll find it a nice, effortless way of extending your knowledge of
Scots - and remember, there's plenty more to come!
