I come across Scots speakers, that grew up speaking Scots and speak Scots to
their children.  However, once they reach school age, they strongly down play
the Scots for a Brit English.  I believe that there is a lot of hesitation
for those that speak Scots to use it in business, at school, in meetings, and
public.  I, have been admonished for speaking Scots by other Scots speakers
who say "don't speak to me with that tone."  As if, I brought them down a
class or two.  It is amazing the bias that exists.
