Does it matter what foreigners call a place? These "incorrect" names are
often interesting historical relics.

BTW, I have a friend who works at the Royal Netherlands Embassy in London
who objects to English people using both "Holland" and "Dutch": not a very
diplomatic stance! (She probably objects to Scots doing it as well, but I
have no direct evidence of that.)

BTW II, I noticed from the credits that the recent worldwide transmission of
the "live film" of "La Traviata" was received in "Birmania". This is the
Italian name for Burma which we in Britain have abandoned for "Myanmar"
because the Myanmarians decided to change the name of their country. Or
perhaps the Myanmarese did it.

Andy raised the ER/EIIR question again. How about the French Louis? Their
numeration was always wrong because they counted from Louis I, who pre-dated
"France".
