I found the following by chance in "Principles of Economics" by Ruffin &
Gregory:

"The following diagrams show unemployment rates ... in Great Britain ...
during the Great Depression. The English figures clearly  show ..."

The first diagram is labelled "United Kingdom". The three terms all refer
to
the same place.
