This is very similar to a ring-brooch in the collection of the Museum of
London (catalogued in _Treasures and Trinkets_, no 110.  The inscription
there is "Ami amet' - and is translated as 'love your loved one'.  The
longer inscription might be 'love your loved one when you think of this'
(Might be, my medieval french is v. poor).  (cf inscriptions meaning 'I
am here in the place of the one you love').  Given the religious
inscription on the outside, the inner inscription is ambiguous: the AMI
could be Jesus, or an earthly lover.
