Grappig. Bij een van mijn eerste colleges over Taalvariatie van het
Nederlands leerde ik het verschil tussen varianten en variëteiten.
Blijkbaar is de Taalunie met dit verschil niet bekend.

Kan je het verschil tussen "varianten" en "variëteiten" eens kort verklaren, ten

bate van die Lowlands-L-abonnés die geen taalkundige bedrevenheid hebben en/of
met het Nederlandse gebruik van deze uitdrukkingen in dit samenhang niet
vertrouwd zijn?
