A Lowlands language we miss in the list, I think, is __Petjoh__.

I found the book:
"Richard Cress, Petjoh, Woorden en wetenswaardigheden uit het Indisch
verleden", 1998, Amsterdam, Prometheus, ISBN 90-5333-607-9, 272 pp., BF 396
(USD 10,-)
in a "Sales" action in Antwerp. Clearly the book does get readers and the
publisher is cleaning up the stocks. It's an interesting book though.

The author distinguishes between:
- Indisch Nederlands: correct Dutch pronounced in an Indonesian way
- Indisch dialect: contaminated variant(s) of Dutch
- Petjoh: a language close to Dutch, with it's own rules, and with
Malay-Java elements.

Since the book is published in the form of a dictionnary, and addressed to
Dutch readers, the major part of the information is Indonesian vocabulary in
Petjoh.

Some samples:

Jouw tjongor baoe half fijf
D: Je snuit ruikt naar half vijf 's morgens, wanneer je tanden nog niet
gepoetst zijn.

Loh, waarom jou kop so beng-kak-bengkil?
D: Hé, hoe kom je aan al die builen op je hoofd?

Masah, je haat in sulke kleren naar bal, ferlehen immers ik.
D: Hoe durf je in zulke kleren naar het bal gaan, ik schaam me op die manier
toch voor je.

PS the g becomes h: gaat --> haat,  verlegen --> ferlehen
      the z becomes s: zulke --> sulke
     the v becomes f:  verlegen --> ferlehen, vijf --> fijf

And it is not the only one missing.  There are several Lowlands-based creoles
that are not represented on the List so far.  (Please take a look at our Pidgin
and Creole list as

In the early days of Lowlands-L, we had a subscriber who was a native speaker of
Petjoh who told us a lot about his language.  I had hoped to get a LL-L intro
version from him, but he left before that, realizing that he was not able to
make Petjoh connections via this list.
