Yes, it is possible that Dun Eideann is anglified to Dunedin however it could
be a Scottification ( if there is a word). Many place names that were Gaelic
were replaced by Scots pronounciations of thoses places as Scots language
replaced Gaelic in thoses area.

Some of you might have said this already.  But the name 'Dan', as far as I
know, is Hebrew and means 'judge' or 'one who judges'.  The original Dan was
the son of Jacob by Bilhah....Gen 30:6
