Dear Lowlanders,

There are four new Low Saxon (Low German) stories by our own Clara
Kramer-Freudenthal posted at <http://www.geocities.com/sassisch/rhahn/kramer/>
(alternatively <http://online.sh/freudenthal> or <http://online.sh/platt>).
Each story comes with an English translation, and the site is searchable, so
you can use it for studies of the Olland dialect of Low Saxon.  There is also
an introduction of Ms. Kramer-Freudenthal in both Low Saxon and English.

Some of you may be interested in the story "Ollanner Dracht" which describes
the traditional women's costumes (everyday and festive) of Ms.
Kramer-Freudenthal's native Olland (Dat Ole Land / Das Alte Land).  It comes
with a picture of her paternal grandparents, her grandmother wearing her
festive costume.  We estimate the age of the photograph to be around 120
years.  While the costumes of that area (partly in Hamborg/Hamburg and partly
in Lower Saxony) is unique, many of you will find similarities with costumes
of several areas in the Frisias, the Netherlands and even Denmark.
