>from "Aos" [aos]?
>
Ik nem an daet ie "ösen" meent, daet bint "aces" in et Engelsch.
En daet kuemt van "aos" (ace) ja. Of man muet noch an Wodan

>bie'n Kopp [bien kop] {"by the head"}
>(de Fietse bie'n Kopp [de vietse bien kop] "the bicycle by the head")
>
"By 'n kop" is wat anpakken. Ik sol seggen daet "de fietse by 'n kop"
so föl is as "take the bicycle".

>Bubikes [boebikes]
>(kläine Bubikes [kleine boebikes])
>
Daet kent wy nich in Twente. Welllich sind daet kleine jongens,
naar et Hoogduytsche "Buben"? (as daet Hoogduytsch is dan...)

>dörn Korf fallen [deurn korf vallen] {"fall through the basket"}
>"be done with"?, "have become a persona non grata"?
>(Denne is mi toch so dörn Korf follen)
>
inhold "to be seen through, to be caught". Ik denke daet
met "denne is my toch so duyr 'n korf föllen" man meent
daet man sich vergist hef in ene.

>drammen
>
Daet is "nölen" in al deselfde beduydingen as van nölen.

>Fanal [vana(a)l]
>"madness"? "to-do"?
>
wat "something of each" is. Of meen ie wellich "finaal", of "vedan",
of noch wat aans?

>Flünnen [vlunnen]
>"rags"?
>
Wy nöömt "rags" vodden, as in et Hollandsch.

>Glase [glaze]
>(dör de Glase gooien "toss through the glass"?)
>
As man et eene glas na et andere drinkt, dan gooit man et duyr et glas.
Natuyrlik kan man ok 'nen baksteen duyr 'ne rute smyten, dan gooit man
et ok duyr de glazen (sol ik daet nich as "glasen" schryven?).

>huckedahl [hoekedaal]
>"hunched"? "cowering"?
>
Dit word nich föl brukt, mar ik gelööv daet man dan leeg by de groond sit.

>ineene [inene, in eene]
>(Denne göng krumm ineene van Gicht)
>
Daet is "suddenly", "at once" in et Engelsch.

>inne Piepe rooken [inne piepe roken] {"smoke in the pipe")
>(Denne kahs inne Piepe rooken "You can smoke him in the pipe")
>
Kan'k niks aver seggen... Sal 't thuus wal maal fragen.

>Kluuse [kloeze]
>"monk's cell"?
>(Denne döht nix mehr up Karke un Kluuse)
>
Ja, 'nen kluus is 'nen "cell". Mar ok 'ne banke hef 'nen kluus (a bank's
vault).
As man niks meer op kark en kluus duet, dan gelöövt man nich meer, of man
duet der lykers niks meer an.

>Koffieschop [koffiesjop]
>"coffeeshop"?
>

>Kuratel [koeratel]
>(under Kuratel)
>
Wy segt "kuyrateel", mar et is etselfde.

>Lauschepper [laausjepper]
>
Meestens maakt wy van "sch" "sk" of "s", dues in dit geval sol daet
"lauskepper"
wesen. Wellich "somebody who makes
noise" of "somebody who picks up / cleans up ..."?

>Lierendräiher [lierendreier]
>"organ-grinder"? "someone who does no serious work"?
>
mar ik gelööv daet et mangs ok wal fuyr andere dinge brukt word.

>loss [los]
>"permeable"? "open"? "rid of"? "lost"?
>(De Grensen bünt loss. "The borders are open"? "We've lost the borders"?)
>

>"anew"? "once again"?
>
Wy segt meestens "opny(j)", naar et Hollandsche "opnieuw".
Ik kan daar gin "niessen" van maken...

>nigges
>"nothing at all"? "not even"?
>
Hier kent wy alenig "niks".

>nöhlen [neulen]
>"dawdle"? "nag"?
>

>"puddle"? "lake"?
>(in’ Pütt springen [inn put springen])
>
Et is 'ne "well" op Engelsch, so'n ding wuur man water uut ophaalt.

>schällen [sjellen]
>"lack"?
>(Et schällt an nix [Et sjelt aan niks] "there is no shortage of anything"?)
>
"Et scheelt an niks" meent daet man niks te kort kuemt,
"no shortage of anything" dues.

>sööte Huuskapläöne [zeute hoeskapläeune] {"sweet house chaplains"}
>
Ik weet nich wat daet sind, mar as ik et so lese dan maak ik daar
"huychelaars"

>Twarssene (< adj. twarssen?) [twarsen(e)]
>
Daet ken ik ok nich, wal "dwars".

>Väenekuhle [väenekoele]
>"swamp hole"? "bog pit"?
>
Ik sol daet "vennekule" schryven, dae's 'n gat in et venne.

>vernienig
>
"stinging", "tough", as in "'nen venynigen pyn" (a stinging pain)

>verschliert [versjlierd]
>"worn-out"?
>
Wy sollen "verslierd" seggen, sonder "j", mar et is "worn-out".

'k hoppe daet dit helpt, as der noch meer sind....

grooten,
Henry

Henry,

Bedankt för de grote Hülp (baven).

Nee, ick glööv', düt is verwandt mit "asen" in Nordsassisch. Dat bedüüdt so
wat as "to make a mess" un kümmt vun "Aas" ('carrion', 'animal corpse',
'disgusting mess'). In düsse Tosamenhang glööv' ick, dat "äösen" so wat as
"to make trouble" bedüüdt:

<...>
Ant Äösen.
Ant Pesten.
Ant Targen.
Ant Piesacken.
Ant Stooten.
Ant Druphaun.
<...>

Mien Översetten:

<...>
Making trouble. [?]
Stirring up.
Sneering.
Pestering.
Pushing.
Punching.
<...>

<...>
Den heelen Huuspröttel,
Kisten, Kasten un Papiern,
Bööker un Flünnen bie Hööpe,
Alls dör de Glase gooien.

Anstääken!
Den ganßen Beis
warm afbrääken.
<...>

Mien Översetten:

<...>
Pots and pans and stuff,
boxes, cases and papers,
books and rags [?] in heaps--
tossing everything through the glass [?].

Set it alight!
Burning down
the whole joint.

Dat glööv' ick ook -- so wat as _frömmelnde Heuchler_ or _pietistic
hypocrites_.

"Een, de keen eernste Arbaid dait"?

"Niks" (schreven "nix") bruukt he ook. Villicht is 't "niks" betoond
[emphatic]?
