Dear Lowlanders,
Some of you are probably already aware of the website "Nu is de Welt
platt!" If not, you will find it here:
     http://www.geocities.com/sassisch/rhahn/low-saxon/plattewelt.htm
It is a collection of names, addresses and other kinds of information of
associations, circles, institutes, departments, theater groups and other types
of organizations all over the world that deal with our language, the language
that is mostly referred to as "Plattdeutsch" or "Niederdeutsch" (Low German)
in Northern Germany and as "Nedersaksisch" (Low Saxon) in the Eastern
Netherlands.
On the first page you must click on one of the "language buttons." Then
you will find an introduction in that language, and below it you will be able
to click on a part of the world. So far only "Europe" and "North America"
contain entries.
A lot of people have viewed these pages already, and some of them have
written to tell me that they have helped them to make contacts with other
enthusiasts, researchers and activists of our language.
Addresses and names keep changing, and new organizations keep being
established. Hence, the lists require constant maintenance. I can only keep
them up to date if I am aware of changes. For this reason I need a bit of
help and would thank you for it, also for passing on the information to your
friends, colleagues and sister organizations. If you wish to contribute
anything, please send it to me (sassisch at yahoo.com).
With thanks and best regards from Seattle, USA,
     Reinhard "Ron" Hahn
"We must unite internationally to support and promote our language."
