Danish/Swedish: _vrist_ ;Norwegian: _vrist_, _rist_,

semantics (Danish):
1. instep.
2. joint of hand/foot (now seldom used)
   then often qualified _håndvrist_, _fodvrist_

ankle

Danish/Norwegian/Swedish: _ankel_
Jutish: (also) _agel_, _agle_

semantics (Danish):
1. bony protuberance on the side of the upper foot-joint.
2. region of the foot-joint.
3. foot-joint but this is usually _ankelled_
