On URL:
http://www.education.gouv.fr/discours/2001/clregion.htm

one finds a new proposal of the French Government for the Education of
Regional Languages:

Conférence de presse du 25 avril 2001
Les nouvelles orientations pour le développement de l'enseignement des
langues régionales

The complete text can be downloaded as pdf file from URL:

ftp://trf.education.gouv.fr/pub/edutel/discours/2001/langregion.pdf

There is no consideration of Flemish (regional dialects) nor of Dutch in
this proposal.

Regards,

Roger

PS: I found the URLs above starting from an interesting site "PLATTWEB"
about Lothringish in France:

The map of dialects by the IGN (French National Survey):

http://www.ign.fr/fr/PI/activites/toponymie/oiloc.html

still leaves a tiny little area for Flemish dialects.

Roger

I picked up this file while visiting:
