't Ênigste wat as ik 'ier an toe te voegen è, is dat in 't Zeêuws de vurm
_sj_ naebie nie vorkomt. Gliek as in 't 'Ollands oor naebie aoltied _sch_

Even butenom 't onderwerp: _tj_ oort wè vee frequenter as in 't 'Ollands
gebruukt: een tjap (snee, bv. in j'n aerm; maer ok: naer aessem tjappe: NL
naar lucht happen), tjottere (reutele, NL rammelen), tjoekes (NL kuikens),
tjiengele (NL zaniken), tjotele (NL piepen van vogels).

As for the sjou, show, sjen, zien etc. question by Henno Brandsma, I think
that in terms of morphology, this is an example of "ablaut" . In Sanskrit
gammar (readers, my apologies) which i know and love, ablaut is the term
for a vowel change of a "root" word, which then changes its aspect, for in
stance from transitive to intransitive or vice versa. Classic example by
professor Heesterman, my teacher: zitten, sitzen, sit and zetten, setzen,
set. The vowel change changes the verb from "to sit" to "to make sit". I
think a similar phenomenon may explain sjeau=sjen litte/sjen: the vowel and

meaning change is "ablaut"

By the way: visitors of the Dutch island of Terschelling know this: there
is a "sjouw" still in operation on the eastern part of the island, where it

is lowered to indicate 1 PM (I believe).

English 'show' (< Old English _scêawian_) appears to have undergone a
semantic switch, when we consider West Germanic *_skauweôjan_ < Germanic
*_skau-_ 'to see', 'to behold', as well as German _schauen_ (< Old High
German _scouwôn) and Old Saxon _skawon_ 'to look'.

Dat sassische Woord is schients ünnergahn.  In de vundagigendaagschen
neddersassischen (nedderdüütschen) Dialekten is dat "kieken" (_to look_),
un ingelsch _to show_ is "wiesen" (= düütsch _zeigen_ or _weisen_).

Most Low Saxon (Low German) dialects of Germany have _sch-_ [S] (like
English _sh_).  Only the farwestern dialects have either _sk-_ (especially
those with East Frisian substrates) or _sch-_ [sx] as in Dutch and in the
Low Saxon dialects of the Netherlands.
