Sandy, I'v been haein a think aboot forms wi -s endins i the first
person singular in Shetlandic, an I think thay'r relate ti the narrative
historic present. I dout, tae, at thay'r muckle the same as forms in
colloquial English.

The twa at comes ti mind is 'I haes i mi mind' an 'I tinks ti mesel'.
Thir seems ti be like colloquial English 'And I thinks to myself (thinks
I!)' an is maistly uised whan ye'r tellin somebody somethin frae the
(aften the juist) past. Is this the source o yer seemilar maks, div ye
think?
