A'm no shuir that thir's colloquial English at aa, tho.
Mibbie "I thinks to myself" wad be said in English, but
shuirly no "I has in my mind"? Or are ye thinkin aboot
colloquial Scottish English?

If it's juist wi "thinks" syne it could be that this is
juist the modern English form o "methinks", could it no?

Mind you, A div hear English spoken doun here in Somerset
wi inflections whaur ye wadna expect them in English:
A'v heard Somerset fowk sayin the likes o "The shops has
these in now," like it wis some kin o simple praisent
tense inflection. A spiered at a chiel fae Bridgwater anent
that whan A heard him spaekin that wey an he sayed it wis
juist his uizual wey o spaekin. A dinna ken hou faur this
gauns, tho - they micht weel be tryin tae spaek "better"
English for a foreigner like me!
