Hello Ron !
I'd need time to study all the mails I received from Lowlands-L last
time.
Reading them roughly it seems to me that there are some subjects I want
to
give my opinion too. But now just a short note on Your translation of
the
Söl'ring song's last part:

Let altert, wan ön frügelk Stün'en
Wü fan üüs Ailön' sii en sjung,
Üüs lööwi: Wü wel, truu forbün'en
Üüs Söl'ring frai döört Leewent gung!

I think its this:

translated to Eastern Frisian Platt:

lót alti:d, wen in fründelk (of häit dat: fre:ful) stünnen
wi: fan us ailand säegh(ent) un sing(ent)
us tau ferse:kern (I haven't any better EF Platt word for German
"geloben"
in mind. EF Platt "ghelo:we" or "ghelôw" means "faith") wi: wil traue
(o:k
traubannergh) ferbunnen
as Sylters fräj dör 't le:went gón.

Let us always when in merry (or is it: peaceful ?) hours
We talk and sing about our island home
promise: we will stand together
And go through life as unbound folks of Sylt!

Do You think it'll help ?

Regards Holger

Thank you very much, Holger! Yes, it was very helpful. I have changed
it thusly:

   <...>
Let altert, wan ön frügelk Stün’en
Wü fan üüs Ailön’ sii en sjung,
Üüs lööwi: Wü wel, truu forbün’en
Üüs Söl’ring frai döört Leewent gung!

   <...>
Whenever we spend time in merry rounds,
Let’s talk and sing about our island home
And promise we’ll stand together forever
And go through life as unbound folks of Sylt!

I have made the change here:

I have also acknowledge your help (at the bottom), and I hope you won't
mind.

Regards,
Reinhard/Ron
