Hello Gabriele !
There is no problem to get the ladder !  Away from regional differences
in
architecture of the traditional houses of Northern Germany the "Haubön"
(in
our EFLS it is "haiböön") always is inside the house. Thus the girl
can
carry the ladder to the window and then fetch it to her lover.
