Dear Lowlanders,

I've now had the chance to look into some standard dictionnaries
for 'yoke'.
Grimm's Deutsches Wörterbuch has
'joch' and 'trage' for the yoke carried by humans.
The Reallexikon der germanischen Altertumskunde (Hoops)
had a lengthy etymological article about 'Joch' and an article
about 'Joch' as a measuring unit.

Well, it seems there's just 'Joch' (and also 'Trage') but no other
word that I thought existed for it.

Guedgaon,

Jan Strunk
