I don't think that there really is any "The German" at all.
We must not forget, that Germany is a young and artificial construction; USA
is much older than Germany!

When I came back from visits of northern and southern America I firstly felt
to be back in Europe- much more important than to be back in Germany!

Of course I am German- but my main-roots are in my local region, local
culture AND! language! And these are part of a European history, connected
with all occidental cultures.
