Hello Everybody,

Can anyone tell me the words to the song

"klapjes in je handjes."

I think the song is in Dutch, but if the song exists in any other languages,
particulary Westlauwers Frisian, I would appreciate them too. If my memory
serves me correctly, this is a song sung to young children while holding
their hands (one in each of the singer's hands) and clapping them together
along with the song. There may be other actions, too, that I don't
remember, in which case, can you tell me about those too?

Randy Elzinga.

ps. If anyone knows the tune, could they transcribe it for me in ABC format
(a musical notation system using ascii text, easier to learn than html, see
http://www.gre.ac.uk/~c.walshaw/abc/ if interested), or some other computer
readable format(eg. a scanned image in jpeg, gif, bitmap, etc. format, or
midi), and send it to me personally at frisiancow at hotmail.com.

(1)
Wenn hier ein Pott mit Bohnen steiht
un dor ein Pott mit Brie,
denn lat ick Brie un Bohnen stahn
un danz mit mien Marie.

(2)
Wenn mien Marie nich danzen kann,
denn hett sei scheiwe Bein,
denn treck ick ehr den Kleedrock an,
denn is dat nich to seihn.

(3)
Wenn mien oll Fruu mi slagen will,
denn weit ick, wat ick dau,
denn stäk ick ehr in 'n Hawersack
un bind em baben tau.

(4)
Un wenn sei mi denn bäden deit:
"Ach, leiwe Mann, mak up!"
Denn bind ick em noch faster tau
un sett mi baben up.
