In Dutch Limburg, the city of Cologne (Köln) is called 'Kölle', just like in
the dialect of the city itself. Another city in the region, Aix-la-Chapelle
(Aachen), is called 'Aoke' in Limburgish. The Ripuarian dialect of Aachen
itself has 'Oche'. (see: www.oecherplatt.de)

These two Rhinelandic cities often occur in Liburgish sayings, e.g.:

- Aoke en Kölle waal opkónne
   = to be able to eat Aachen and Köln (very hungry)

- Kölle en Aoke zeen neet op einen daag geboewd
   = Köln and Aachen were not build in one day

- 't in Kölle hure hómmele/dóndere
   = to hear it thunder in Köln

- hae meint of Aoke en Kölle ziene moostem zeen
   = he thinks that Aachen and Köln are his own backyard (he is very
arrogant/pretentious)
