Possible, but I was totally ignorant of this expression. I only knew
<Bauernbrot> and <Mischbrot>, which is also what I say, but then again
I`m Austrian. But I did live in the Swabian speaking area for 10 years,
Neu-Ulm (Swabian part of Bavaria), just across the Danube from Ulm,
which I believe Gabriele knows. My ignorance may also reflect the fact
that English was mostly spoken at home as my mother is English speaking.
So when I was sent shopping I had an English shopping list and generally
pointed at the bread types I wanted. Funny how some things come so
natural to a bilingual person, with an enormous overlapping vocabulary,
and then suddenly I will encounter every-day things of which I either
know only the German, or the Englsh word.
