I added a page to my pages of (old) written Dutch in the Southern
Netherlands.
Its a rhymed story, written by a soldier from Aartselaar (just South of
Antwerp), fighting in Napoleons's army.
In the quoted excerpt he get good points by translating a booklet from
"hollandish" into French.

"Eenen Antwerpenaer of wel niet verre daer van,
Want die daer zyn geleerd, ook hollands leezen kan"

I can't comment on any of the others, but personally I don't recommend
"Colloquial Finnish" which I regard as the poorest textbook I've seen
for any language I've ever studied or attempted to study. Finnish has
a splendidly regular orthography but that didn't prevent the author,
Daniel Abondolo, from devising his own idiosyncratic "phonetic"
representation of the language, which has to be mastered alongside
the normal spelling if progress is to be made. It's just confusing.

"Suomea Suomeksi" (literally "Finnish, in Finnish") is good, but is
written entirely in Finnish and so is unsuitable for beginners working
without a teacher.

"Teach Yourself Finnish" claims to be "a complete course for beginners"
and although it isn't really that, it's not too bad, and does give
a good range of vocabulary with different lessons focusing on different
subject areas such as food/drink, travel, weather, shopping, entertainments
and so on.

Better than any of those by a long way is "Finnish for Foreigners".
However, an alternative is a new course (published only in 2001) called
"Finn Talk", which I haven't seen at all and which would be worth
checking out.
