So, it's that bad, huh?  All right then, but let it not be said I didn't
try.  Anyway, it's my way of keeping you Scots speakers on your toes at
all times.

Translation:
"Uilleam, I totally agree.  But wouldn't you suppose this thought and
how to shirk this responsibility haven't crossed the minds of the people
at the BBC?  The question is: Are Scots speakers demanding it?"

Wir Colin seemed to have gotten the gist, judging by his reply, and he's
the writer of the first-ever Scots textbook.  :>
