Lowanders,
vinden.
(Okay incase my Dutch is so bad no one can read that I'll try to say
that in English.)
I've been taking Dutch for two semesters now and am having trouble
finding popular Dutch music to listen to. When I was first learning
German (and even now) I found that listening to music in the language
you are learning helps with pronunciation and listening skills. I
would really be happy if some of y'all could help me find some good
websites with good Dutch music.

Dank u wel,
Michael Arnold

P.S.-
Also on a note completely off the subject why is it that the first
Harry Potter Movie was available on one disc with English, German, and
Dutch, but the second movie only came with English and German!!! I was
really looking forward to seeing the second one in Dutch.

"Politikens Nudansk Ordbog" Politikens forlag
shows pronuciation, including the glottal stop.

Thanks Edward and Kenneth for the info. Gyldendal does indeed have an
"udtaleordbog", entitled "Dansk Udtale". It's at the top of my shopping
list as of now.

Kenneth: I wasn't aware that vestjysk employed the glottal stop more than
rigsdansk. I was under the impression at kobenhavnsk employed them most
often, but that they were absent from sonderjysk (do you keep the high
rounded "y"'s when you (being jysk) say "synnejysk", or do they become "o"
also?) and the southern-lying islands of AEro, Langeland, Lolland and parts
of Falster. Is that accurate? Also, I would love to be able to ask you
questions, so I will address you off-list, if that's OK with you.

Thanks again!

Mvh,
Peter Wright
