Folks,

The Lowlands Saxon (Low German) announcement above (between *** and ***)
comes from the newsletter of the Fehrs Guild (http://www.fehrsgilde.de). It
advertises an evening of Lowlands Saxon reading ("Nedderdüütsche Literatur
in Japan, japaansche Literatur op Platt" = “Low German Literature in Japan,
Japanese literature in Low German”) with two parts: (1) _Määrken un
Määrkenballaden_ (“Fairy-Tales and Fairy-Tale Ballads”) and (2) Low German
_haibun_ (i.e., travelogue with interspersed _haiku_ poems). Special guest
that evening will be Lowlands-L member Yasuji Waki (脇 康二) who is about to
leave Japan for a visit to Germany. There is some likelihood of a couple of
my _haiku_ being read, original ones and/or translated from Japanese. The
Fehrs Guild invites guests to this event, so I hope some of you can attend
and can say hello to Yasuji Waki and perhaps to other Lowlands-L members as
well.

The event will take place 4 p.m., Monday, April 19, 2004, Zentrum für
Niederdeutsch
(http://www.zfn-ratzeburg.de/), Domhof 41, Ratzeburg, Germany. €2,50 will be
charged.

Regards,
Reinhard/Ron
