Subject: Etymology

Hello to everyone from California! I'm currently on an unexpected quick
visit to the Stanford University campus in the San Franciscon Bay Area.

And thanks to Mathieu van Woerkom for taking care of business in my
absence!

It's the same in Lowlands Saxon (Low German) and German:
LS: steken-peyrd (<Stekenpeerd>, <Stäkenpeerd>)
G: Steckenpferd
_Hobby_ can be used as well and seems to be taking over these days.

Utz:

Ah, yes!  Thanks.  But can't that be taken as meaning female versions of
certain other types of farm animals as well, at least in some dialects?
