Subject: Prof. Henry Higgins & the Turkish 'dotted 1'

Alexander Graham Bell's father invented a notation, he titled "VISABLE
SPEECH". He and Henry Sweet, and others were the models for the foil in
Pygmalion. (My Fair Lady)It was when his grandsons, (who became the National
Geographic) were born in Turkey, circa 1922, that Bell Sr. registered his
disgust for the new Roman Alphabet letter 'dotted 1' developed for the new
Turkish Orthographic Reform, by pronouncing it as 'unspeakable'! However
there is no end in sight to orthographic reforms, as shown by this website:
