I'd love to hear the Old Saxon version on an audio file!!

If I have time, I'd like to try a Gothic version, but I'm really not sure
the lexicon would be there for what I'd need - I'll give it a shot, but
we'll see how far I'll get.

Thanks a lot, Mike.  I'm afraid it won't be nearly as good as the soundfiles
of the Old English and New England versions you've already thrilled the
anniversary project team with.  You're not only an impressive linguist but
also an excellent narrator, as is the person who has done the Standard
American soundfile (whose identity will be revealed later).

Folks, you have quite a few treats coming your way.  It's going to be a site
that will be of interest to "experts" and at the same time will be
entertaining enough for "lay" folks, including very young ones.  Hopefully,
it will contribute to kindling an interest in linguistic matters in some.

Please keep contributing to the project!  You don't have to measure up to
the likes of Mike.  So don't feel intimidated!

Below is a slightly improved version of my Old Saxon translation.

By the way, most specialists seem to think that, although usually hardly
ever represented in writing in the case of round vowels, umlauting before
<i> [I] and <î> [i] had already begun at that stage of the language; e.g.,
luttike ['lYt:IkE] (little ones), sôkian ['s9:kIan] (to seek), blôði
['bl9:DI] (shy, timid, afraid > ModLS silly, stupid).
