LL-L Names
From: Bill Wigham
Dear Gabrielle & Liste.
Not only is the name ending at home in the north of Germany but also in
Hessen. The 2. Grenadier Battalion of the Hessian allies of the British
Crown during our revolution was commanded by Obristlieutenant von
Minnigerode. Now being in the baronial class he may have originally come
from the Nedersassisch coastal plain but it seems there are other places,
widely scattered, that bear names with the -rode ending.
