Folks,

Being a bit shy about his English, our friend Franz Firla -- apparently the
only one among us holding up the Low Franconian (Limburgish?) flag on the
German side of the border (Mölm/Mülheim an der Ruhr) -- asked me to pass on
his requests.

He and others are working on the cultural bits at his city's website and a
periodical, and his presentation about the song _Ssinter Mätes Vögelsche_,
which has versions throughout the Low Franconian area (_Sintermertes
veugelke_ etc.) is nearing completion.

Franz has created music notation on the basis of a midi file at
http://www.limburgzingt.nl/bleri-ps.htm#507 . He wishes to know if there are
other versions and, if so, if anyone cares to share those.

Franz has been working on a translation of a Limburgish version of the
Netherlands but is not sure about all of it.  He therefore wonders if we
could come up with an "expert translation."  The words are below.

Hallo, Ron Hahn,

heute habe ich mit der Redaktion der städtischen Seiten noch einmal die
Übersetzung  einer Stadtbeschreibung ins Niederländische erörtert.
Die englische Version wird noch einmal überarbeitet, und dann kann's
eigentlich los gehn. Zeitpunkt steht allerdings nicht fest.

Ich habe die vielen Versionen des "Sinter Mätes Vögelsche"-Liedes ( Danke!
Danke! Danke!) nun eingeordnet und bereite ein Materialbuch zu dem Thema
vor.(30 Versionen)
Meine Notensammlung ist allerdings noch etwas schwach. Ich habe eine
Notendarstellung aus einer Midi-Datei aus Venlo gefertigt.

Ich denke aber, dass nicht überall "Sintermertes veugelk" auf diese
Melodie gesungen wird. Vielleicht läßt sich da noch etwas durch einen Apell
an die
LOWLAND-Abonnenten erreichen.

Dann noch eine Bitte zum Schluß:
Ich bin mir nicht ganz sicher, ob meine Übersetzung richtig ist, deshalb
die Bitte um eine Experten-Übersetzung.
