One gem name is exclusively male: Jasper.

English still uses boys' names from "Lion", such as Leo, Leon, and Leonard.
There is also CNN's Wolf Blitzer, and "Tiger" is a common nickname for boys,
usually used by their fathers ("Go get 'em, Tiger!").
