Ik ken dat wourd wul un bün ook mit Dyn mouden oever eyns, dat 't vun 
Ingelsch _to paint_ af-kümt.

Ik ken dat tou meyrst vun us vadder un syn maten, meyrsttyds bruukt as 
_an-poenen_ ["?a:\np9:n:], ook up Missingsch. Ik har as jung meynt, dat weyr 
'n besünner wourd in d'n schip- un ysenbou. Daar is dat sachs vun d'n 
schargong vun de varens-luyd' oevernamen worren. Meynst nich ook?  Dat 
beduydt nich bloots _anstreichen_ or _anmalen_ man ook _(über)lackieren_, up 
Ingelsch sachs so wat as _to apply a coat of paint or varnish_.
