From: jonny <jonny.meibohm at arcor.de>
Subject: Dictionary

Dear Lowlanders,

we were discussing about the word G: 'Ruester', 'Ulme', normally E: 'elm'.
In context of purchasing an Englisch antique dining-table there came across
the word E:'rooster' for the material the table was made of. I'm curious to
know if this word also exists in English for the tree usually named E:
'elm', for I don't find such a word, or something similar to it, in the
Oxford Dictionary.

Looking forward for Your kindly answers

with best regards

Volker (brother of Jonny Meibohm)
