The whole issue of classifying people by "race" (whatever that means ) or
"ethnicity" is absurd. The expression "Caucasian" for Spaniards or
Portuguese has no meaning, they are not Georgians or Armenians, but a number
of them have Arab(Moor) blood; African American has no meaning, as it does
not include Egyptians, Moroccans, Berbers, Afrikaans who are all from
Africa. And so on and so forth. The whole thing has been concocted in the
past 50 years  for political purposes and financial distribution, as well as
to create friction between groups. Instead of treating people as worthwhile
individuals, they are lumped into categories that can then be manipulated.
The Nazis were the first, the Soviets next. And now the PC types.
My paternal parents and grandparents were from French speaking Belgium. On
my mother's side some were Alsatians. One of my grandmother's grandmother
was English. Considering that the English population consists of Celts,
Romans, Angles, Saxons, Danes, and that Belgium was at different times
Spanish, Austrian, French, and that certainly a great deal of intermarriages
must have occurred, what should I put down on those stupid forms ? I call
myself Martian and let the computers figure it out.
When will this insanity  end ?
