To Ron, Jan and other people with heads that float somewhere between Dutch
and Afrikaans. Of course you are right Ron, but this very amateur linguist
has not yet opened a separate drawer in her mind for Afrikaans.
Anyhow the cat does not care whether you address him/her/it in Dutch or
Afrikaans.

Aitsa! My maggies! Dis maar aardig! Nou moet jy op jou pasoppens wees. Sjoe! 
Ons japie-tjommies (met wie daar nie sommer gelol moet word nie) sal weens 
daardie kasie-houding hulle baie verêre, hulle afgehaal voel, befoeterd 
wees, die ritteltits kry en bohaai maak soos Piet-my-vrous of kwêvoëls.  Hmm 
... You do get credit for honesty, though. Nietemin ... it looks like we'll 
need to whip you into shape a bit, or at least rearrange your drawers ... 
(well, en ik bedoel natuurlik nie jy broekiekouse nie). Maar ons is 
natuurlik egter nog baie lief vir jou.

Isit? Ja-nee, don't be too sure!  They can be linguistically gifted and can 
be very finicky about things related to their African _Urheimat_.  I bet our 
Margaret (of お猫 oneko handle renown) will agree.
