Interesting... I didn't know such lengthening took place in LS as well...
Ignorant as I was I represented this in the spelling of my Wren-tale because
I thought it was something proper to my region and thus should be written
for the interest of the reader :)
Some examples in the story are "d' aand", de hand/the hand, "daarft",
durft/dare which I suspect to come from an underlying derft (compare
Antwerpen:Aantwaarpe(n) with er>ar>aar) for some hypothetic reasons.
I do not dare bother you guys with YET another (third) time of working and
changing everything onto the site - I leave it up to you if it's important
enough to remove or not.

Haai, Diederik!

Well, it's really up to you if you would still like to change it. Mathieu
and I wouldn't be all that annoyed. We'd spank you only ever so slightly.
;-)

Nice, though, that this exchange has taught you that "pre-sonorant vowel
lengthening" is a very wide-spread feature in the "Low German" group (i.e.,
Low Franconian and Low Saxon).

It's pleasing to observe your interest and ethusiasm, Diederik.

Hold vast!

Reinhard/Ron
