Hi Ron & All:

Subject: Traditions

This 'wren' string is a treasure. Think what Robert Graves would have done
with it! Mind you, he covered most of the ground already, in 'The White
Goddess'. Frazer in his 'Golden Bough' is more thorough, but one doesn't get
the impression he was personally involved, whereas Graves, in his poetical
persona was. Sad, but perhaps for the best, the most that passed through the
puritannical sieve of my forefathers is the name, 'winterkoningtjie'. Just
because one is moved by a myth or tradition doesn't mean one likes it!
