Ergens in mijn documentatie over een nieuwe bijbelvertaling in Afrika:
"Die Boekuitgewers, een kleine uitgeverij uit Pretoria, wil graag aan arme
kinderen, waaronder veel kleurlingen, een mooie kinderbijbel geven die in
hun "huistaal" geschreven is. Naar verwachting zullen ook veel volwassenen
deze vertaling gaan gebruiken. Begin 2005 wordt de vertaling van het Oude
Testament afgerond en gaat het vertaalteam beginnen aan het Nieuwe
Testament."

Baie dankie vir die handige informasie, almal!

Af en toe ontdek of onthou ek fragmente van ou-modieus, letterkundig
taalgebruik in ouer Afrikaanse gedigte en liedjies.  Ek vermoed dat baie
van hulle vir die ontwil van ritme gekies word (veral in vertalings van
gedigte en liedjies), alhoewel 'n voorkeur vir die "hoë" letterkundige
styl in verlede tye moontlik ook 'n rol het gespeel.  Jammer onthou ek in
hierdie oomblik geen voorbeeld nie ... ;-)
