Hi Frank,
Ook ik ben geen expert op dit gebied maar ik kan mij bijna niet voorstellen
dat de oorsprong van _dope_ in het Nederlands gezocht moet worden.
_doop_ ken ik alleen als een rituele besprenkeling of onderdompeling.
_dope_ ken ik oorspronkelijk als een Engels woord voor toevoeging (additief)
zoals bijv. lood werd toegevoegd aan benzine. Om een bromfiets sneller te
laten lopen gebruikten wij vroeger een soort slaolie als additief.
Een andere betekenis van _dope_ ken ik als drug.

In de paardenraces wordt geen _dope_ gebruikt net als bij het wielrennen en
allerlei andere sporten en dus bestaat dat niet.;-) Verder zijn er (ook) bij
paardrennen veel mogelijkheden. Zoek het vooral - net als bij wielrennen en
o.a. atletiek - in de toediening van hormonen. Nee, dit zullen toch geen
Nederlandse uitvindingen zijn? Kunnen we niet iemand anders aanwijzen?
