Haai almal,

Ons het 'geil' in Afrikaans al voorheen bespreek en hier te lande word die
woord gebruik om
landerye se uitbundige groei te omskryf, dus soos in die sin: 'Die koring
staan geil op die land.'

For me, the German _geil_ is more like _thick_ and _fat_ or _greasy_.
In Dutch we also use _geil_ for good clayground at the north coast near the
Waddenzee. Geile grond geft geile eerappels: vette klei geeft dikke
aardappelen.
