Dear Piet Bult,

Thank you for your decent introduction! Personally, Stellingwarfs is about
the only Low Saxon language that I am familiar with, as my parents live in
Oldeberkoop / Berkoop (as a matter of fact I'll be there tomorrow).

For a couple of years I visited Oldeberkoop quite often and I got in touch
with the Stellingwarver Schrieversrondte which happened to have its office
in Oldeberkoop / Berkoop (before, they were in Wolvega / Wolvege). I met
lots of interesting people and I grew fond of Stellingwarfs! I hope to do
more for the language (first learn it properly) when I have more time. In
1996 we even agreed on making a web-site for the Schrieversrondte, but the
idea never really picked up. Maybe they didn't realise the unmatched
benefits of the Internet.

Your surname rings a bell here: one of the most prolific writers for the
Schrieversrondte magazine "De Ovend" was Oene Bult. Are you in any way
related?

You said you translate the Bible into Stellingwarfs: do you do that together
with other enthusiasts?

Best regards,

Marcel Bas.
