Beste Arend
Sudden unlocking of memory - sugar crystals on a cotton thread. I have a
vague memory of that and it must have been in north east Groningen in 1940s;
can anyone tell more?

On the tea question; I drink a large bowl of Assam Delikat early in the
morning and it gets me off to "an all's well with the world" start while I
read and have breakfast. But then on the way to work I have a lovely milky
espresso to set me up and get me sparking. Incidentally, in the Sydney Tea
Centre one can buy a Friesian tea blend. Tried it once but found it lacking
in aroma and soothing quality.

During the day a coffee or a tea depending on whether I need to spark more
or to calm down.

And the schnitzel - where does it come from? In Australia in the 1950s it
was called a Vienna schnitzel and consisted of a pan fried piece of thin
veal with an egg and breadcrumb coating. Now it has a batter and is deep
fried.
