Not actually true anymore.  I was born a US citizen, and applied for, and
was granted Canadian citizenship.  This is not officially an issue for
either government, and I am actually encouraged to vote in both
countries.  There is actually a Democratic organization which solicits US
persons living abroad to register and vote on the assumption that the
person is living abroad because of George Bush.  Unfortunately for them, I
came here because of a Democratic president.
