Beste Lowlanders
By a wonderful coincidence the Travels site is proving of great interest to
me.

The first coincidence is that I will starting to walk part of the Camino de
Santiago de Compostela in the last week of August. With my friend, Bernie
O'Donnell (obviously of good Irish descent and with an Irish zest for life
to match) we'll start to walk at St Jean de Pied de Port in France during
the last week of August. I'll walk about 500km to Leon having then to get
back to Australia for some work commitments but I hope to finish the walk
next northern spring. Bernie will walk on to do the whole 800km trip in one
go.

The second coincidence is that my father spent some time during WWII as an
"onderduiker" in, of all places, the marechaussee kazerne at St Jacobs
Parochie where his close friend was a resident officer.

The last coincidence is that I personally know Andrys' brother, who lives a
mere 5km south from me. Small world for us lowland travellers, eh?
