Hi all,

Today I watched a very interesting programme on WDR (West Deutscher
Rundfunk) about Ditmarschen. They talked about the multilingual area
(Frisian, "Platt", Danish and High German), about children learning Frisian
in school, folklore, the Cabbage Queen, the identity of the area,
stubbornness of the people there, festivals, Emil Nolde the painter, etc.

I was delighted to see so many 'bodenständige' people talk about their home
so enthusiastically.

Best regards,

Marcel.
